Tedx Seattle
Introduction
Coming out of the COVID-19 lockdown and in the midst of significant political and social movements, Tedx Seattle sought an open that not only embraced their branding but also reflected the raw momentum and energy of the city itself.
Process
Urban Energy
The primary challenge was to create a conference open that broke away from the outdated shots traditionally used and instead captured the evolving essence of Seattle. I created an animation that embraced the city’s vibrant spirit while integrating the recent impactful events that had influenced its identity. My goal was to reflect the energy, resilience, and diversity of Seattle while staying true to the recognizable Tedx branding.
Photo Curation
Drawing inspiration from the vibrant city itself, I curated a collection of contemporary images that represented the city of Seattle. From the iconic landmarks that dot the skyline to the powerful moments captured during the BLM protests, the open exuded a gritty yet captivating energy.
Kinetic Text and Animation
I incorporated kinetic text, gritty scribbles and block compositing to capture both the chaos and the momentum the city was feeling during 2020.

The conference open animation served as a powerful introduction to the event, setting the tone for a day of engaging talks and discussions.
